South African International Tattoo Convention – 23rd March

The South African International Tattoo Convention returns this March. 80 tattoo artists from around the world are invited to contribute to this show. Showcasing, within a quality & intimate setting, the best of international Tattoo art. Visitors can look forward to experiencing new cultures and people, world class tattooing and generally just a good time! Fokofpolisiekar will also be playing at the show.

Jazz for Earth Hour – Silo District – 23rd March

On Friday 23 March, the Unity Band Octet will be paying homage to music greats and an array of jazz influences. Visitors can expect to hear African jazz, fusion, modern and contemporary jazz, and even some pop and hip hop tunes with a jazzy beat. Mandisi Dyantyis Quintet, who will perform an hour-long concert from 7.30pm, is a versatile musician Mandisi Dyantyis is a composer, arranger and producer of Jazz, Western Classical and African Indigenous music.

Jazz for Earth Hour – Silo District – 24th March

Tthe Muneeb Hermans Quartet will entertain the crowd with a 45-minute concert ranging from South African to American jazz standards as well as some original material. The quartet, all current and previous UCT music students, consists of trumpet player Muneeb Hermans, keyboard player Mathieu Windsor, double bassist Stephen de Souza and drummer Kurt Bowers. Next, the Dixie Swingers, an acoustic Jazz ensemble that will perform for an hour from 8.30pm. The Dixie Swingers describe themselves as a laid-back band that performs ‘finger tapping’ and ‘bum wiggling’ tunes, specialising in Dixieland and Swing.

Things To Do in Cape Town – April 2018

Carlos Santana Live in Cape Town – April 2018

Big Concerts is pleased to confirm that Santana will be returning to South African in 2018 performing in Cape Town on the 11th April 2018. Santana’s special guests will be local greats Mango Groove.

 Wacky Wine Weekend – 31st May – 3rd June

 Savour 15 years of Greatness at the famed Wacky Wine Weekend from 31 May to 3 June 2018.  Over the course of the Wacky Wine Weekend, more than 35 Social participating wineries and tourism establishments will be opening their cellar doors to showcase the finest vintages in the Robertson Wine Valley. Savour award winning wines through cellar tours, pairings and interactive tastings by exceptional winemakers.  Enjoy live music, food stalls with hearty country cuisine and fun activities for children.

  • Where: Robertson Wine Valley (each participating winery or tourism establishment will host their own activities over the weekend)
  • When: Thursday 31 May 10h00 – 17h00; Friday 1 June 10h00 – 17h00; Saturday 2 June; 10h00 – 16h00; Sunday 3 June 10h00-16h00
  • Tickets: Tickets are on sale with Webtickets at R200pp and includes a tasting glass, coupon tastings and a bottle of water. There is also a Designated Driver passport (18+ and not drinking), this comes complete with various goodies from the valley and can be collected directly at the Robertson Wine Valley office at 2 Reitz Street, Robertson upon being purchased online.
