The Rocking the Daisies 2013 Full Line Up is slowly being pieced together. I’m super excited that Skunk Anasie is coming as I’ve been a long time fan, however, I’m assuming their cost is affecting other parts of the festival? What I mean by this is that the schedules are filled with artists I’ve never heard of before, in particular, on the Red Bull stage.
I’m quite happy to hear new artists and what they have to offer but not 10 new ones in a row! And there are now 2 hour sets as well. The downside of this is that if you don’t like that style of music then you’re stuck with it and that does make a difference after the main stage closes. On a more positive note, the main stage acts and the Red Bull stage acts are now staggered at half hour segments. This way you can watch half an hour of the main stage then half an hour of the Red Bull stage and, theoretically, not miss anyone!
I hope the Red Bull stage won’t suffer too much this year due to budget costs. I’m not sure if I think there’s any point elevating one section of a festival for another? Then again, we all made it through the Ramfest “one day” debacle 2 years ago so maybe sacrifices have to be made for the greater good?
