Cape Town Fashion Week 2015 Castings Kick Off

South Africa’s emerging and leading models showed up in their numbers to audition for an opportunity to partner with 1 of 12 leading designers for the Spring/Summer season of Mercedes-Benz Cape Town Fashion Week 2015 at the end of July.

The auditions, which were hosted at the Artscape, revealed no shortage of remarkable modelling talent, much to the delight of show producers Deon Redman, Jan Malan and Mary Reynolds.

“We always look forward to the castings ahead of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town,” said Redman. “We love seeing how our established models are growing in their careers, and it also gives us the opportunity to identify hot new talent. We’ve already identified some perfect pairings of models and designers, and we know that the designers are going to be impressed with the talent that we’ve found.”

I work on a number of fashion brands at work including Thomas Pink, Roland Mouret, Hardy Aimes, Hobbs, Dickies and Daisy London jewellery, so I spend a lot of time studying fashion websites yet I’ve never been to a Cape Town fashion week! Hopefully 2015 will be my first experience.
