It’s Monday and everyone’s hung over from Synergy Live 2011 – whether it’s emotionally or physically. What an amazing weekend away! This year Synergy Live had a world of music including the Main Stage for South Africa’s biggest bands, LMG Stage for up and coming alternative bands and Redbull Studio Stage for South Africa’s best electronic artists and DJs. Whatever your preference in music, Synergy had it!
Not only was Synergy about the great music, but also about a relaxing weekend away on a beautiful wine farm. Boschendal risked having thousands of crazy festival goers on their soil and we thank them. Visit Boschendal all year around for their wine tasting room. (I actually saw people wine tasting, they’re brave!)
For those who needed a break from the music, Synergy Live provided other entertainment such as the comedy tent, 3 fun rides (of which I have yet to ride! I was too scared!), graphic nail art manicures for the ladies and short film screenings associated to Rafiki’s Bar in Tamboerskloof.
For food and drink there was a huge main bar, a Jagermeister bar (no tequila), Redbull Bar, Kent smoking section with a free dress up photo booth as well as a food stalls that included pizza strollers! I’d never seen them before but they were damn tasty. Basically they’re pizzas that are constructed to look like ice team cones! Spur, Mojo (from Spier wine estate / Eden on the Bay) Slush Puppies, smoothies, pizza, curries, boere wors rolls, corn dogs, wraps and more were available to hungry party animals.

Synergy Live provided an awesome VIP area which was cool and shady under beautiful oak trees, meaning artists could rest IF the other VIPs kept quiet! It was far from the main stage but the shuttles made it a breeze to get around. Thanks for the private loos and showers, definitely the most pimp camping VIP I’ve ever stayed in. I didn’t hear any complaints about parking, carrying supplies or camping from the general area this year, so it seems things have been improved in 2012.
Synergy Live was my favourite festival two years ago (I missed last year) and 2012 was fantastic once again. Lots of choices to entertain party animals all weekend. Awesome live acts, although I’d like to see even more acts from up country next year. Thanks for having us none the less, it rocked! I’m looking forward to 2012 already 🙂
