UPDATE: 14TH SEPTEMBER 2015
Dates and venues for Iron Maiden in South Africa, 2016, have been released this morning. The last time they were in the country my Dad ended up going on stage and headbanging with them, sans hair. #TrueStory. He says it was the loudest concert he ever attended so if you’re in to pure metal, don’t miss this show!

AUGUST 2015
I woke up this morning with rumours of ACDC and Iron Maiden heading to South Africa. Never one for jumping on the band wagon until it’s confirmed, I headed over to both websites and can only confirm that Iron Maiden is heading to South Africa next year. I’ve contacted a few people in the ‘know’ and all shall be revealed in good time. For now, the website says,
“Vocalist Bruce Dickinson to Captain and pilot a boeing 747-400 Jumbo jet to play in six of the seven continents travelling over 88,500km around the globe. The Book of Souls World Tour is expected to visit around 35 countries including first ever concerts in China and El Salvador.”
Shows in SOUTH AFRICA, Maiden’s first visit there with Bruce, will be the last port of call before Ed Force One heads to EUROPE for a very extensive tour starting in late May and finishing in early August.”
“Details of the precise schedule are currently being finalised and we will commence announcements of specific dates for the different territories in a few weeks’ time.”
The new album Book of Souls will be released on the 4th of September world wide.
