When I woke up this morning I could literally sense that it was going to be a hot day. There’s just something about the texture in the air that I can pick up straight away and I KNOW it’s going to be a scorcher. I tried not to be late for work (I’m literally late every, single day) so that I could leave on time and I did fairly well! (Only 15 minutes late :O ). As soon as it hit 5pm I was out the door and ocean bound.
I love to sit on the shore line near Oudekraal on the Camps Bay side of the mountain and watch the sun go down when it’s a really hot day. There are often dolphins and seals frolicking and today I saw dassies and birds. It’s always so beautiful when it’s 30 degrees, no wind and a glittering ocean in front of me.
Today I was also happy because a little present from MOKAÏ had been sent my way, so Mr John put them in the fridge so that they would be nice and cold for us to have a sundowner.
We headed over the mountain and pulled up to a totally empty car park! I have NO idea where the party was else where in Cape Town, maybe people just don’t like heading out on a Monday! But it was wonderful to have the gorgeous view to ourselves. Every now and again cars with other couples or friends would park for a moment to take in the view and mosey on again. It’s gorgeous.
MOKAÏ is a brand new international import to South Africa and it’s YUM! For those with a sweeter tooth, they made the perfect sundowner. Why? Because of their twist off cap and reasonable alcohol level. While it’s made with vodka each bottle is only 4.5%, so it’s “better” to have a MOKAÏ than a glass of wine, which can be quite potent and not the best idea if you’re driving.
Originating in Denmark, MOKAÏ has just landed in South Africa and is perfect for the summer season ahead because it’s easy drinking. Available in 3 flavours: Elderberry (this was my favourite and SO yum. Tastes like “see through” jelly babies!), Blueberry & mint and Forrest Berries, MOKAÏ has a shot of caffeine to keep you light on your toes throughout summer. (I don’t drink coffee and I don’t often have caffeine drinks and I found MOKAÏ to be really subtle tasting.)
