South Africa’s largest and most popular beer festival, the Cape Town Festival of Beer is back to rock the Mother City at Hamilton’s Rugby club from 27 to 29 November 2015. With over 200 beers from 60 local and international brewers, this festival is a must-attend event for everyone BEER CRAZY! Whether you’re a beer enthusiast, connoisseur or just keen on sharing a few cold ones with your mates this festival is for you!

Crowd favourites including CBC, Devil’s Peak, Brew Dog and Darling Brew are just a few brewers that will be showcasing at the event. Don’t miss out on the beer and food pairing that will also be available at some of the stalls. Cape Town Festival of Beer owner, Martin Tucker says,

“This year we are coming back bigger and better! We’re even extending our offering to a range of cider manufacturers due to popular demand.”

But if you’re someone into fun a bit more than beer, then you can still visit (I did and I’m not a big beer fan). Expect delicious food stands, live entertainment, home brewing demonstrations and beer tours, to name a few of the exciting activities surrounding the event.

Kiddies play areas will also be available providing fun for the whole family.

    STRONGER BONES:
It is believed that beer generally has a good amount of silicon which is directly related to the health bones. In a study conducted by Tufts University and other research centers, it was found that older men and women, who had beer or wine, daily, had better bone density. But increasing the drinks to above two daily, made them prone to bone fractures. A study on 100 different types of beers in 2010 identified that the pale ale, had the best bone buildings benefits, as this brew was the richest in silicon. The light lagers and the beers that did not contain alcohol were found to contain the least amount of silicon.
So drink up, but not too much 🙂
