After Ramfest’s announcement that Rise Against is heading to the 2013 edition of the alternative festival, Capetonians have been in a much better mood! The presence of Rise Against in South Africa has certainly answered more than few rock n roll prayers, with a mixed response to Pendulum’s DJ set since they already performed here in 2011. The brand has promised more metal band releases for those whining about the music not being hard enough. 2013 is set to squash any doubts about the festival after 2012’s presentation.
Ramfest have also embarked on a new location! Nekkies in Worcester has been the venue favourite for many years but it seems the organisers are onto a new location in 2013. Riviersonderend is quite a way away but Riversdal needs the tourism, that’s for sure! It’s 146kms from Cape Town International Airport and will take approximately 2 hours.
Ticket sales opened this morning at 00:01 so if you want to save money, now’s the time! From TicketBreak: Cape Town = R490 early bird (limited amount available) R550 pre-sold and R650 at the gate. Although this is an increase in ticket prices, I hope no one bitches too much. You want quality bands? They don’t come cheap. Let’s just pay and be happy because you KNOW it’s going to rock!
P.S Oppikoppi tickets were R550 through STD Bank & R600 presold LAST year, so Ramfest is still cheaper than most and the festival is just as good.
