I’ll NEVER forget hearing stories in High School of girls heading to Club Vibe. The Saturday afternoon Matinee seemed to be THE place to be for all high school girls who loved dancing, music and, naturally, boys! The iconography of the club, the “peace sign” cropped up everywhere around Cape Town. From lampposts to space cases, Club Vibe was the place to be in the Southern Suburbs.
I, unfortunately, never managed to attend…booooooooooo for me! So it’s with a smile on my face that I see the brand is relaunching this October and is hosting a huge party at the Cape Town International Convention Center (CTICC). Although Monica’s First Night or Mark Morison’s Return of the Mack are no longer the number one club songs, The Club Vibe brand has booked a current line up that’s sure to rock the party.
Turntablisst DJ Codax and DJ Ready D, Pop house groups Mi Casa (live) and Crazy White Boy (live), Die original “skollie” Jack Parow (live), House DJs Leighton Moody, Ryan Dent and Pascal n Pearce, 5FM DJ and presenter Euphonik, techno DJ Monique Pascall, electro DJs Blush ‘n Bass and Double Adapter, moombahton/electro DJ Das Kapital, drum n bass leaders Niskerone, Hyphen and SFR are all on the line up plus more! Not to mention the internationals on board, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Skills and DJ Mystique.
The largest event I went to at the CTICC was Mardi Gras last year and by the sounds of this event, it’s sure to top that! They’re employed security and medics, let’s hope they do a good job. The promoters of Club Vibe are going all out this year with Good Hope FM and Trace Television on board, it’s bound to be huge! (Better leave those hand bags at home LOL) Tickets are available online at QUICKET (never heard of it but looks alright) for R250 earlybird ENDS SEPT 19th, R350 for general and VIP for R450!
For more info, see their FB event.
hee hee…. I went there ONCE, quite an experience, an enjoyable one no doubt…
Club Vibe?!? Heard so much (good) about this place in the past but was always a bit hesitant to go. Amped to see what all the fuss was. With that line-up they seem to know what they’re on about!
Hopefully it’ll be a great party and not too crazy!
