The Utopia Festival seems to have popped up out of nowhere but their big line up, and triple stages, means the party is on! Held at the popular festival venue, Nekkies (Earthdance), in Worcester Utopia Festival is hot on the heels of the big festivals held over the years.
Freedom weekend (April 26th – 28th) sees some of South Africa’s biggest artist join the Utopia Festival line up. The main stage includes: Bittereinde, Karen Zoid, Fokofpolisiekar, Desmond and the Tutus, The Plastics, aKing, Tommy Gun and DJ Invisible (Gazelle) and more.
The electronic stage is house orientated and features Hype Media creator Dean Fuel, Killer Robot (Bruno Morphet & Ivan Turanjanin), Chris Jack, Lady M (previously of Digital Divas), Ian Skene, Plaigarhythm (B-Team), Candice Heyns (Blush n Bass) and more, SO much more!
The third stage plays hosts to some of the Cape Town’s finest comedians including Siv Ngesi, Brendan Murray, Martin Evans (back from the States) and Paul Snodgrass, + more.
And as a bonus mini 4th stage, there’s a camp site stage, which features up and coming musicians to keep the crazy kids in the camp site happy.
Tickets are REALLY reasonable for such a big line up:
- Full weekend tickets are only R380,
- Saturday and Sunday tickets are R320 and
- Sunday alone tickest are R70 from Webtickets.
- Limited Door tickets R400 for those of you who want to join the fun last minute.
Although these ticket prices are super reasonable, the kind folks at Utopia festival have given me a set of Double Tickest for one lucky reader!
