Up The Creek Music Festival FULL Line Up for 2014

Up the Creek 2014 LogoUp the Creek Music Festival was the very first festival I ever attended. I’d been in a long term relationship from the age of 18 and didn’t do ANYTHING without my boyfriend. It was actually pretty lame! But that’s hindsight for you! I’d been upset about something so my brother convinced me to go to Up the Creek with him and his (then) girlfriend (now) wife.

It was the first time I’d ever seen Hog Hoggidy Hog after hearing him play their music. I LOVED it! They had THE BEST farm kitchen where ladies made the most amazing sandwiches. It was also the first time I’d had green pepper on a sandwich LOL I still love to put it on sandwiches now! Up the Creek was a very small festival back in 2004 then but has grown to 3000 people these days. It’s also the only festival, to my understanding, that is band based only. No electronic music.

Corne and TwakkieMy first Up the Creek experience also introduced me to Corne and Twakkie. I still can’t stop saying, “Come on you guy!” thanks to those guys. Comedians still seem to support Up The Creek as Anne Hirsch (Anne Hirsch show/Foblo Bulletin) has made an official video for them.

2014’s line up includes:

After Robot, Aidan Martin, Akkedis, Al Bairre, Beach Party, Beatenberg, Bed on Bricks, Black Cat Bones, Coelacanth, Dave Ferguson, Desmond and the Tutus, DJ Dirtroad, El Cantante, Feed the Wolf, Gerald Clark and the Dead Men, Grassy Spark, Habit To, Jeremy Loops, Matthew Mole, Mean Black Mamba, Naming James, Peter Mitchell, Piet Botha, The Plastics, Raoul and Black Friday, Red Huxley, Runaway Train Cult, Shortstraw Band, Springbok Nude Girls, Stefan Dixon, Taxi Violence and Wonderboom.

And if you manage to buy your Up the Creek ticket before January 2014 then you could win a hamper prize worth R3000 that also includes tickets to Bruce Springsteen! Up the Creek is happening on the last weekend of January 2014 (Jan 30 – Feb 2nd 2014). Tickets available on Plankton.

Ahoy mateys! Are there any competitions running to win some tickets for the weekend? It’s my birthday (30 January) weekend and whoop looooove to celebrate without VIP nonsense 😉
