LE KAP LIFESTYLE FAIR

Le Kap

The stylish LE KAP Lifestyle Fair takes place at the historic Blaawklippen Vineyards in Stellenbosch this December. The opulent affair is a perfect symbiosis of fashion, fine wine, food, horses and cars. The event’s partners include prestigious brands such as Bentley, Veuve Clicquot, Glenmorangie, and Belvedere Vodka amongst others. It marries 10 of the Cape’s top wine estates with a selection of food served to guests throughout the afternoon, together with an array of gourmet food markets, which will offer additional menu items for sale on the estate’s sprawling lawns. Entertainment includes a fashion show featuring South Africa’s top designers lables, Musical Kur (dressage) shows will feature riders showcasing their astounding skills, a prelude to the an exciting 6-bar showjumping competition in the afternoon.

TABLE MOUNTAIN BLUES SUMMIT 2014 (Kids welcome)

6 & 7 December, Hillcrest Quarry, Durbanville.

This December sees South Africa’s premier blues music festival, the Table Mountain Blues Summit, return to Hillcrest Quarry in Cape Town. Hosting 20 of the country’s top blues rock artists over 2 days, expect top class outdoor sound rig, lighting, huge LED screen, vibrant food and refreshment stalls, plenty of outside bars, free and secure off street parking and it’s free entrance for children under 12 (must present some form of ID). FAMFEST BACK AT THE WILD CLOVER FARM (Kids welcome)

FamFest, the festival that puts families at the forefront, will be held at the Wild Clover Farm, Stellenbosch on Sunday, December 7th. Expect an action-packed day full of kiddies entertainment including jumping castles, small petting farm, face painting, balloon sculpturing, Hula Hooping, an interactive Drum session and dance lessons by JellyBean Events, specialists in kids and entertainment events. While the event is geared towards kids, there’s plenty for mums and dads to enjoy, including live music entertainment, delicious food, a fully stocked bar and shaded seating areas. There will also be controlled entry, tight security and an on-site medic, so mums and dads can sit back, relax and enjoy the day.

“Famfest is for the young and young at heart!”, says Frankie Hannigan, creator of FamFest. “We look forward to the fourth installment at the Wild Clover Farm, and encourage families to come and join us for a fun-filled day in the sun”.

Why not do your bit by donning your dancing shoes and getting yourself down to Cape Town’s City Hall this Friday for the first Christmas in the Dark Powerwise Piece Party? Brought to you by integrated concept and music experiential agency, 3 Blind Mice, in collaboration with Cape Town’s number one pizza brand, Butler’s Pizza. The line up includes electro-swing group,GoodLuck, Beatenberg, The Kiffness and James Copeland – R25 of every ticket sold will be donated to two worthwhile charities.

The supported charities are Little Fighters Cancer Trust who offer support to children with cancer and their families, and No Danger Diaries, a Cape-based social enterprise committed to making a difference while completing fun tasks such as abseiling in superhero outfits to try cheer up sick kids.

Now in it’s 5th year of all things local, lekker and lavish, the Favourite Thing Market offers a ‘happy place’ for enthusiasts to swap the crowded mall for a carefree day out in the countryside, whilst ticking off those Christmas shopping lists with glee. Expect beautiful stalls with authentic products such as vintage finds; gorgeous kiddies clothing; décor treasures; trendy accessories;  flowers and indigenous fynbos wreathes; ceramic masterpieces; pamper products;  artisanal cheeses, pesto’s and chocolates; craft beers, and of course a glass or two of Gabriëlskloof wines. VODACOM SUMMER SURFSKI SERIES HITS CAPE TOWN (Kids welcome)

Junior Surfski series world champion, Kenny RiceJoin the Summertime fun when a stellar field, including Olympian Nikki Mocke and Junior World Champion Kenny Rice, take to the waves, as part of the Vodacom Summer Surfski Series at Big Bay. Kicking off on Sunday the 30th of November at Big Bay, Muizenberg on Tuesday 16 December, Fish Hoek on Sunday 20 December and Camps Bay on Sunday 18th January 2015.

Kenny competes across the globe and is in red hot form winning the Junior Boys 15-19 category at the USSurfski Championships in San Francisco in August 2014.
