My colleague, who is originally from Joburg, always chuckles at how Capetonian I am. When it’s sunny and I’m optimistic she always notes how excitable I am, in love with the fact that Cape Town is “alive with possibility”, and she’s right. It’s spring! It’s feeling like summer and there ARE just SO many things to see and do in the Western Cape over this happy season.
This year I have been introduced to a new event; the Festival in the Valley at the La Paris Estate near Franschhoek. This breath-taking estate, with its luscious gardens and manicured lawns is situated only 8km outside the picturesque town of Franschhoek.
The Festival in the Valley celebrates all things fun in the name of summer! Expect a daily market to shop high-end gifts for your Christmas shopping, Artisanal food and beverages, food trucks, wine, craft beer, cocktails, an outdoor expo, a variety of kiddies activities (jumping castles, water slides, outdoor evening movie) and a live concert! Buy your ticket for one of the days, the whole weekend or upgrade your ticket to enjoy the fantastic line up of musicians taking our stage on the top field for The Summer Concerts.
