[WIN] Cook Up a Storm with a Defy Stick Blender!

Guys! Ok. So I know it’s SO random to be excited by a stick blender, but I’ve watched like 10 seasons of Master Chef Australia and they always make the most amazing crumbs or sauces, ALL with a stick blender! I’ve been dying to get one and try one out one for AGES and, thanks to Defy, I finally have one! I’m so stoked to tell you about it!

In a long way around story, at the end of the day, I managed to get my paws on a stick blender. There have been 3 things that have always stuck in my mind from Masterchef that I’ve always wanted to try:

  1. Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb
  2. A mayonnaise
  3. A crumb

After receiving my stick blender, popping out to Pick n Pay and finding they had lamb still on a rack, I was SOLD! I quickly purchased the rack and headed home to give my crumb maker a go.

Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb with my Defy Stick Blender

I Googled an easy Gordon Ramsay recipe which I’d watched on TV a few years earlier:

I did exactly as he did, but I must add that he makes scoring the meat look SUPER easy. I didn’t find it THAT easy to do. None the less, I grabbed my herbs and stuck them in my new Defy stick blender…

Next I threw some breadcrumbs into the bowl. I’d actually had fresh bread that I needed to dry out in the oven for a bit, so the mixture was a little bit dry. I added a touch of flour to even it out a bit. And then more herbs to make sure the colour was correct.

Next, I cooked off the lamb in a pan before covering it in mustard and dunking it into my vibrant green crumbs:

After coating the chops I stuck them back into the oven until cooked through. I then removed them and let them rest on a board while I finished off my mash and green beans before cutting them into chops.

Ladies and gentleman, dinner is served! THANK YOU DEFY!

I have to start making my baby his own first puree’s. I would use it to make all the first vegetables and apple and pear purees.

I’m a meat lover so any recipe that requires a mixture of sauces , breadcrumbs and meat is a winner with me like Ostrich fillet with a Rosemary rub topped with homemade mushroom sauce

    Liked & Liked 🙂

I would really like to make that herb crusted rack of lamb to be honest. It looks absolutely delicious. The husband would be SUPER impressed if I whipped that up one evening 😉

    Holding thumbs!

The possibilities are endless! I love experimenting and exploring with food and this gadget would be rather handy. So I’d create a spiced maple, oatmeal & banana smoothie, cream of avocado soup and an espresso shake. All popped into the blender and wa la, easy peesy.
