YOINK! My favourite music festival, the Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (CTEMF), has shifted its date by 2 months! The celebration of all things electronic, from Gqom to drum n bass, is a staple on the Cape Town party calendar and showcases the best of the country as well as hosting a number of internationals.
Instead of being the first weekend in February (which has been the case since the inception) CTEMF will now move to April. Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (CTEMF)’s 7th edition (2018) will take place in Cape Town from 6-8 April 2018.
I actually think this is a really good thing because they have awesome ticket specials, but they always run over the Christmas period. Locals really need to keep supporting projects like this, but the realities of December holidays, Christmas and kicking off the new year has its pressures. Hopefully this shift will improve support.

In addition to the festival’s new dates, CTEMF also announced plans to expand their satellite events to Durban for the very first time, with CTEMF events taking place in Durban and Johannesburg on the 6th and 7th April 2018 respectively.
As always CTEMF will hosts a three-day series of free workshops and showcases where industry luminaries from around the world cross paths with South Africa’s established and up-and-coming talents to share stories, skills and insights. The expansive 3-day workshop programme will take place at various locations around Cape Town from 3rd – 5th April 2018.
The only down side is that we’ll have to wait even longer for the next one! BOO! But I know it’ll be totally worth while 🙂 See y’all on the dancefloor in 2018!
