Giggs & IAMDDB Head to Rocking the Daisies 2019

Holy days! Rocking the Daisies has done it again! GIGGS is heading to the annual outdoor music festival 2019!

I’m a HUGE fan of Giggs, first learning about him and his music on BBC 1xtra a few years ago. He has an amazing, deep, smooth voice and produces UK hip hop, with a sprinkle of grime.

While he’s been around for a good 10 years, I only started hearing his music with his Let Em Ave It album, while listening to the Trevor Nelson show while at work. The Let Em Ave It album followed a broader sound profile; while being predominantly hip hop, London grime influences are sprinkled throughout the album in tracks like Bus Commercial.

When his next album came out When Will It Stop, it followed a far more traditional hip hop sound, with “Is it Gangsta, yes, yes, yes”, “Burst” and “Mr Kool” standing out in particular.

Who had this weird, low voice?! Giggs soon became a household name.

His 2016 album Landlord perform his first BBX1 Xtra live show with hits like Whippin Excursion and Lock Doh, pushing his star to rise further. This year he released a new album called Big Bad… of which I am yet to listen to in full but the single Baby has had over 1.5 million views in 1 month.

Catch Giggs at Rocking the Daisies 2019 at Cloof Wine Estate in Darling. Lineup times to be confirmed closer to the event.

IAMDDB also to play…

UK grime artist IAMDDB is also on the lineup, but I have to confess that I’m not very familiar with her music. I do know the single she made with Diplo earlier this year, but that’s about it. Having said that, I’m a happy Lady Leshurr fan so I’m all for female grime artists and will be well keen to watch.

Well done Daisies! Killler lineup this year…
