By now you’ll know that I’m not a big sports fan. While I absolutely agree that it’s a vital medium for children and our country, I’m not much into the whole jock culture. If sporting fans behaved themselves a little better, it would be even more inclusive. Having said that, there isn’t a single South African who does love and cherish the thought of the Rugby World Cup. And as little as I like sports, I even enjoyed the FWC when it came to South Africa. It’s a celebration, a unifying medium and can be lots of fun (even those people who like me who generally avoid the culture at all costs!).
So with the Rugby World Cup 2015 around the corner, I thought this was a cool event to share with you. Shimmy Beach Club has teamed up with Castle Lager to bring the World Cup tournament to Springbok rugby fans in Cape Town. From the 18th of September (and on designated rugby match days) an array of entertainment, games, competitions and live sport will be available making Shimmy the coolest spot to watch the beloved tournament.
