HEADLINE: JOHANNESBURG IS THE NEW HOME OF DRUM N BASS
I know these are words that no Cape Townian ever wants to hear, however, this is fast becoming the plain truth. This weekend Jozi’s monthly drum n bass party Science Frikshun turned 6. To celebrate SF hosted Cape Town monthly dnb party Pressure and was sold out by 10:30. That’s 900 people. Sold out. No more entry. Snooze you lose. They’re coming with a big fight Cape Town.
This weekend, however, is our opportunity to fight for our title back. Cape Town’s been the home of drum n bass in South Africa for the past 20 years but at this rate Jozi is fast stealing the title. Vote with your feet and support Pressure (and Cape Town) this Saturday night. And no bitching about cost!
Science Frikshun cost ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY RAND at the door. And no one quibbled about paying because they knew the party would rock – and it did. Hard.
Pressure costs: R45 pre-sold at Webtickets or Shelflife in Loop street. R60 at the door.
Hyphen, Bruce Willis and Frank Latter (the lighting designer) were flown to Jozi to make it cool. Pressure is their home…don’t force them to love Jozi more than us 😉
