This weekend sees the return of the Nokia Cape Town Tens rugby event. Held each year at the Hamilton Rugby club in Green Point, the Cape Town Tens tournament was started by Bob Skinstad and Robbie Fleck in 2009. This year Nokia is come on board to support the event with a renaming to match.
Bob Skinstad says of the event, “Nokia is a huge global brand and for them to associate with us is a massive endorsement of the growing popularity of Tens rugby in South Africa. The Nokia Cape Town Tens is a unique sport and entertainment lifestyle event that offers some great experiences on and off the field, for players and spectators alike. Nokia’s involvement means we can now take the event experience to another level.”
The Nokia Cape Town Tens is the biggest ten-a-side tournament in world rugby with more than 90 teams participating, 2000 players and 12 000 spectators over two days. Expect rugby, sunshine, banter, photo booths, phone charging services, free wifi, rugby development clinics, Springbok and international players supporting the event, beer tent and live entertainment from DJ Sox, Goodluck, Me and Mr Brown, The Rockerfellas and The Rivertones.
