Everything You Need to Know about the Taste of Cape Town 2015

My favourite food festival is coming around again. The Taste of Cape Town showcases some of the best gourmet restaurants in the Mother City and greater surroundings. It’s an opportunity to experience a touch of gourmet in bite sizes. Apart from the food being delicious, it’s a great way to audition restaurants you’ve heard about or have wanted to visit. I’ve visited the Taste of Cape Town for all 7 years and have enjoyed watching the event grow year after year. (My reviews here: Taste of Cape Town 2014,  Taste of Cape Town 2013Taste of Cape Town 2012.)

I feel like the number of restaurants over the years have decreased (although I’m not sure this) and I know a general “issue”was that there wasn’t a large variety of food types but that seems to have been addresses this year with the inclusion of sushi restaurant Beluga, Kitima and Jewel of India.

The full restaurant list includes:

Longridge (Bruce Von Pressentin), Beluga (Chef Alan Huang), Cosecha (Riana Robertson), Hemelhuijs (Jacques Erasmus), 96 Winery Road (Natasha Wray), Camissa (Jason Franco & Jocelyn Myers-Adams), Ernie Els, The Bakery at Jasons (George Jardine), Kitima (Lai Kuan Geo), Azure (Christo Pretorius), Don Armando, Jewel of India (Keldeep Singh Dhirwan).

I’m SUPER happy to see that Rekorderlig Premium Cider will be featured at the festival this year. It’s my favourite fruity flavoured cider (not regular apple) when I’m overseas and has recently landed in South Africa. There will also be the Robertson’s Ultimate Burger Making Class, Two Oceans Butcher Block and Bacardie Mixology Theatre and Cocktail lounge among other stalls and offerings. Unfortunately the menu isn’t available yet (yes I pour over it well before the time of the festival!) but should be released within the next 2 weeks.

The Taste of Cape Town 2015 event details:

Taste of Cape Town Menu:

This year’s menu looks GORGEOUS! I think it may be one of the best (last year was way too fishy). This is what’s for dinner:
