I’m hearing mumblings of loadshedding this afternoon so while I had planned to tell you about this app next week, now seems befitting. It’s called LoadShed and has been created by the team at the Made agency, here in Cape Town. Simple, easy to use and, hopefully, accurate (we’ll find out today if Eskom actually does drop us in the dark).
LoadShed allows you to add areas that interest you in order to easily access their loadshedding schedules on one easy app. Here’s how:
- Download it to your phone
- Add a suburb to your Watch List
- Click on that suburb
- Select the phase (1, 2, 3A, 3B, etc.)
- Voi la! All the info at your fingertips.
I’ve spent so much time trying to zoom in on maps online to see which zone my home falls into. While Property24 has a good zone map, it’s not mobile like LoadShed. As soon as the possibility of being plunged into the dark comes to light (haha) then I want an instant answer.
