Tokai Fire Images

Summer fires ravish the mountainous slopes Cape Town, South Africa. This summer has been no exception with fires blazing in Tokai. The Tokai fire images are pretty scary and being there, even worse. And, typically South African, we absolutely hate on one another, bitching day and night, until there’s common ground. Then all of a sudden we pull together like no one else on earth. First note:

While I was in Johannesburg this weekend I missed out on all the fire drama. While driving to work this morning in Tokai, I realised how hectic it is. The sounds of helicopters has been flying over our heads all day and when I popped out at lunch time I could clearly see fires still burning high on the mountain. Pretty scary. Thank you SO much to our firefighters. I can’t imagine how hectic this job is. RIP all the tortoises.
