Review: Kylie Cosmetics in South Africa

I’ve been buying Kylie Cosmetics for a few years (as per the How to Buy Kylie Cosmetics Guide on my site) and have tested both purchasing from the USA and Europe (clue: USA is better). But ARC Cosmetics recently announced the launch of Kylie Cosmetics in South Africa (with mixed responses), – but shopping locally will save us time and a fortune!

I popped into the ARC Store in Cavendish to see the stand myself and it looks really good! I personally love the lipsticks and have always been honest when complimented (some people don’t like the fact it’s made by a Kardashian/Jenner so I have to let them down gently!).

The Cavendish store has a small range of lipsticks (with Mary Jo K being available, my absolute favourite vibrant red alongside MAC’s Russian Red), but not Maliboo – which is my favourite day wear lipstick.

Highlighters

Highlighters (of which I already have the salted caramel and was sorry to see no pink highlighters) are available as well as bronzers – which have received good reviews on TikTok.

Foundation and Bronzer Reviews

What’s great is that they have the full range of concealers and foundations, which are some of the most difficult to buy online. I managed to grab a foundation, but didn’t find the concealer worked well for me. I suspect it’s best for gals under 30 because it’s a very light formula and offers soft coverage. Being over 40, I prefer something with a bit more full coverage (like ABH).

I’ve been using the foundation for work as it’s a lighter coverage than the Anastasia Beverly Hills (which I use for clubbing), paired with the Tequila Sunrise bronzer which I am loving! So pigmented and easy to blend (I used to use MAC), super happy with this.

Lip Balm Review

The lip balm smells good and I like the packaging, however, it’s not worth the price tag. The applicator is feel good if you don’t have cracked lips. But it being winter, my lips have been rough and they they can get knicked on the applicator. The smell and feel is awesome and it stops your lips from getting worse but doesn’t really heal them like other balms. At R450 for the stick, the price would have to come down significantly for me to rebuy.

The staff at ARC were also super lovely and helpful. And the best part is – if you pay with your FNB card then you get 20% off! What do I love more than makeup? A saving!

Let me now if you’ve checked it out and what your feelings towards the brand are? Happy shopping!
