I was surprised and enthusiastic about the news of the Ministry of Sound hosting a New Year’s eve party in Cape Town. Immediately, I jumped onto Computicket to find out more information. I was NOT pleasantly surprised when I saw some tickets are available for R800.00. Granted, there are cheaper tickets but I still think this price is a cheek. Why? Because Computicket can’t even tell us the line up! Which says to me the organisers haven’t handed over the information. Why?
With many of Cape Town’s Top DJs already playing at the TechnoDubFest at Rezonance, I’m wondering how they intend to fill their “5 massive arenas showcasing 5 international DJ`s and a supporting line up of all South Africa`s favourite artists” – Computicket.co.za, when most people have already paid for their NYE tickets before spending their entire November salary on Xmas presents?
I’m going to continue to watch the press in the hopes of being “blown away”. I would like to thank Protoculture (and Facebook) for sharing SOME of the beans on Twitter, amazing when the artists act as the press release for major events! The Facebook events (which I don’t ever regard as an authoritative source) states the following internationals will be playing:
Commercial Hippies, Dirty Herz , Double Adapter (JHB), El Gordo, Esc, Frozen Ghost, Grimehouse, Haezer, Household Funk, Jay Rocca vs Keegan Marini, Josh Borrill, Jason Borland, Mike Play, Mix n Blend, Pitch Hikers, Protoculture,PsyFour, Rabdom L, Ricardo Da Costa, Riot Squad, Royal K, Tune Raider, Twisted System, Xatrick, Zizie. More TBC.
