Isangqa Sobomi needs our help! Who? Yeah. That’s what I thought. Hout Bay’s Isangqa Sobomi is an NGO at the Sentinel Primary school in Hout Bay. Why should we care? Well, whenever I go to Hout Bay I always look at the buildings near the Look Out Deck and wonder about the fishermen families who live there. We all know the fishing industry for individuals isn’t easy. Isangqa Sobomi focuses on changing that by uplifting and educating the underprivileged fishing community of Hout Bay.
The Cape Peninsula University of Technology BTech Public Relations students are taking it even further and have created a fun, family day out that will impact positively on the lives of the fishing community. The family day takes place between 10am – 2pm on November 16th 2013 at the Hout Bay Community Center on Baviaankloof Road. The day includes a dog show, magic shows, jumping castles, music, food stalls, face painting and more.
The PR Students invite you to come out, make a difference and contribute to this NGO by having a great day out with your kids. The entrance fee is R10 for children, R20 for adult and R50 for a family of four. It’s not hard to have a good time and help others whilst you’re at it. Click Attending and make a difference 🙂
