Blood Brothers: South African Rockers Unite Against Cancer

I personally don’t know anything about the BLOOD BROTHERS so when I had 2 seconds to myself today, I went to the Facebook group to learn more. Over 8000 people like the page! CLEARLY, I’m not in the know. Oops! Luckily, their PR manager is on it and sent me some useful information.

The Blood Brothers are a super group who formed, earlier in the year, in order to take a stand against cancer. They have partnered with the  Vrede Foundationwhich aims to educate young people (15-29) and raise funds for those who can’t afford their cancer treatment. The foundation says,

“The Vrede Foundation aims to raise cancer awareness amongst the South African youth through music. Music is the cornerstone of The Vrede Foundation’s process and the live music arena in South Africa is providing the stage from which this new message of hope and action can be delivered. At these live music events young South Africans can get information, learn how to be prepared, where to seek counseling, contribute funds to the Foundation’s trust to help their peers and simultaneously HAVE A REALLY GOOD TIME!”

Blood Brothers 2015

Some of the countries biggest artists made history when they banded together in Johannesburg to help the cause. Artists include Arno Carstens (Springbok Nude Girls), Francois van Coke (Fokofpolisiekar & Van Coke Kartel), George van der Spuy (Taxi Violence), Albert Frost (Blues Broers), Kobus de Kock Jnr. (Black Cat Bones), Hunter Kennedy(Fokofpolisiekar), Rian Zietsman (Taxi Violence), Jason Hinch (ex Black Cat Bones, Boargazm), Isaac Klawansky (Shadowclub) and Loedi Van Renen (Taxi Violence) and now they’re coming to Cape Town.

  • Where: Grand Arena, Grand West
  • When: 23rd September 2015 (night before Heritage Day)
  • Time: 8pm
  • Hashtag: #TenUnite

I thought Blood Brothers was just another cheesy marketing name, but now I think it’s really fitting and an awesome idea. Well done on the artists involved. Please dig deep and buy your tickets for it, let’s make a difference to our fellow citizens who may need help more than we do right now. See you there!
